Summertime Blues in the Southern US
Living in the south offers quite a few perks in terms of not having to shovel snow and endure treacherous winters. At least not very often anyway! However, there is one thing about living in the south that you can always count on and that is that you are always going to be in for a hot summer. For some people this is not that big of an issue as they have good atlanta heating and cooling systems. For others it is literally a nightmare. In addition, it always seems that like Murphy’s Law, whatever can go wrong will. You’re A/C will almost always choose the very worst times to break down. It is amazing how many people will tell you that their units went belly up right in the middle of the hottest time of the year. Of course this is no coincidence. Because the summertime offers such hot temperatures in the south, your heating and cooling unit will have to work double time to keep you comfortable. Because of this the compressor can go bad. This is especially true if your home in not properly insulated.
To avoid headaches like this, always keep your unit properly serviced and maintained and be sure that your home is sealed correctly. This means making sure that all windows and doors have been sealed with weather stripping and caulk and also that your duct work is all intact, without leaks. By taking just a little bit of time to make sure your unit is in good shape at the beginning of each summer, you can avoid the summertime blues when it comes to your heating and cooling unit anyway. If you take precautionary measures before the weather gets too hot, you will be doing you and your family a huge favor, not to mention your wallet
